On this page
- In Settings, Food, select Food sizes at the top of the page. Counts are kept on each size, not on the food type
- Find a size you keep and switch on Count stock
- Type how many you have, then select Save. Repeat for your other sizes
That’s all the setup. Each feeding you log now takes from the count.
When your reptiles’ usual meals for the next 7 days need more of a size than you have, Running low appears at the top of the Feeding List. For more notice, set your own number.
Running low: Rat Pup (freezer) - need 2 in the next 7 days, have 1.
Get told when to restock
Running low stays on the Feeding List while you’re short, and a feeding that leaves you short says so in its notification. It isn’t on Home or in the Notification Bar. If you expected it and it isn’t there, check that the reptile eating that size is:
- In Collection
- Set up with a usual meal: Both Usual food and Usual size, under Feeding in its Update form
- Fed at least once: A reptile has no due time until its first meal is logged
- Eating a counted food: Its usual food uses a count that’s on for that size
So a size at 0 that nobody eats this week gets no warning, unless you’ve set your own number.
Set your own number
Each count has a Warn me at box. Type a number, and Running low also appears once that count is at or below it, whoever eats that size. The 7-day warning still works alongside it.
Set each one to suit that size, such as 20 for a size twelve reptiles eat and 3 for a size only one eats. Empty the box to turn it off.
Look further ahead
To look further ahead, select Shopping list on the Feeding List. It shows what you need, have and should buy for the next 7, 14 or 30 days.
Add what you bought
In Settings, Food, find the size. Use the plus and minus buttons beside its count, or select Set to... and type the new total, not the number you bought. Update the count on a Running low warning opens that size with Set to... ready.
To stop counting a size, switch off Count stock. The number is kept.
Count live feeders separately
A size can count what’s in the freezer, what’s live on hand, or both.
- Under the size’s count, select Count live too
- Type how many you have, then select Save
If your reptiles’ usual meal on a size is a Live food, Count stock opens the live count first. To keep only one count, select Stop counting live or Stop counting frozen. Move to the freezer… moves live feeders you froze from one count to the other.
Check which count a food uses
Each food type in Settings, Food has a tag: Frozen, Live or none, which means it isn’t counted. A new account’s foods are already set, and pre-killed foods use the live count. A food type you add is guessed from its name.
To change it, select the food type and choose under Uses stock from. Past feedings keep what they took, and the row offers Recount if your counts may be off.
If a feeding’s food uses a count that’s off for that size, nothing is taken, and the form says so. Rat Live on a size that counts only the freezer does this.
What a feeding takes
| Outcome | Frozen | Live |
|---|---|---|
| Ate | The items | The items |
| Refused | The items, unless you switch off Subtract from the freezer | Nothing, unless you switch on Subtract from live stock |
| Regurgitated | The items | The items |
| Skip | Nothing | Nothing |
In a Quick Feed check list, the switch is Used the item. After a Quick Feed refusal, the notification offers Didn't use it for frozen food, or It was used for live food.
A feeding took the wrong amount
- Before you log it: Beside Takes 1 from the freezer, select change and choose another count or Nothing, for this feeding only
- After you log it: Edit or delete the feeding, or select Undo on the notification. The items go back to the count they came from
- The count is just off: Select Set to... and type what you really have. Imported feedings never take stock, so recount after an import
- “more used than counted”: The count hit 0 and a feeding wanted more. Logging is never blocked. Set the real number with Set to...
