Create a record, change it later, copy it or remove it

On this page
  1. Update a reptile
  2. Set a status
  3. Track a quarantine
  4. Clone a reptile
  5. Delete a reptile
A reptile is added with a Name / ID, a nickname and a usual meal.
  1. On Home, select the + button, then Add reptile
  2. Select Basics, type a Name / ID and select Save
  3. Open and save any other section you want filled in
  4. Select the button at the foot, named for the reptile, such as Add Churro

A section’s Save only holds it. Nothing exists until the button at the foot is selected.

A Category on a new reptile fills in any defaults set in Reptile Categories, unless you’ve typed your own.

To add many at once, see Import Reptiles.

Update a reptile

On the reptile’s page, select the + button, then Update. Each section saves on its own.

  • Weight or length: Log a new one. Starting weight and Starting length on a new reptile set its units, and it then shows the unit of its latest entry
  • Reminders: See Reminders and Due Dates for changing or turning them off

Set a status

Status is under Basics. Active, For Sale, Reserved and Quarantine are In Collection. Inactive, Deceased, Sold and On Loan are not. Their reminders are off, Home hides the reptile until you change its Status filter, and the previous and next arrows skip it. Everything logged stays on its record.

Track a quarantine

Choose Quarantine, then set Quarantine started and Quarantine length. With both set, the Dashboard has a Quarantine dial counting up, such as day 11 of 30. The length is only a reminder, and the status will remain as Quarantine until you change it.

Clone a reptile

On the reptile’s page, select the + button, then Clone Reptile. Photos and logged events aren’t copied.

Delete a reptile

On the reptile’s page, select the + button, then Delete Reptile, and type its Name / ID to confirm. Its events and photos go with it, and it can’t be undone. To keep the record, change its status instead.
