Choose the events you log

A category groups the events you log, such as Cleaning. Its types are what you pick when you log one, such as Spot Clean. Feeding’s types are your food types, in Settings › Food.
Add a category
Select Add category, enter a name and select Add category again. Your own categories can be renamed, hidden and deleted.
Built-in categories can’t be renamed or deleted. Breeding Cycle, Cleaning and Medication take types of your own, and the others have fixed types.

- Enter the Type name and select Add type
To rename or delete a type, select it. Renaming it renames every event logged with it. A type marked Built-in is locked.
Add a medication
Medications are the types in the Medication category. A new one appears in the Medication form.
Choose which cleanings reset the reminder
In Cleaning, each type has a Resets the cleaning reminder switch. Logging a type with it on counts as a full clean, so the reptile’s cleaning reminder starts over. Full Substrate Change always resets it, and a new type is initially set to off.
Changing the switch moves your reptiles’ cleaning dates to match what’s already logged.
Hide a category
Turn off Show this category to stop offering it. It disappears from the Log event list, Select & Log and each reptile’s dials, and from the Animal Report unless you choose to include hidden categories. Events already logged stay.
Delete a category or type
Deleting one deletes every event logged under it, and it can’t be undone. When events would go, SnekLog asks you to type its name, and to check a box for a whole category.
