Your food types and sizes

On this page
  1. Match sizes to food types
  2. Rename or change one
  3. Delete one

A food type is what you feed, such as Rat Frozen. A size is how big it is, such as Rat Weaned. A feeding picks one of each.

  1. In Settings, Food, select Add food type or Add size
  2. Type the name. For a size, add Weight of one and its unit if you like
  3. Select the same button at the bottom of the panel

Each food type’s tag and each size’s Count stock switch are covered in Track Your Food Stock.

Match sizes to food types

A food type offers the sizes whose name includes its first word, in upper or lower case.

Which sizes a food type offers
Food typeOffers
Rat FrozenEvery size with “Rat” in its name: Rat Weaned, Small Rat
Live RatThe same. A leading word like Live, Frozen or F/T is skipped
CricketsOnly sizes with “Crickets” in the name, so “Cricket Large” isn’t offered
Assist Feed, Refused Feed, RegurgitatedEvery size

Both panels say what matches as you type.

A size no food type offers is listed under Not offered for any food type. Rename it to include a food type’s first word.

Rename or change one

Select the row, make your change and save. Refused Feed and Regurgitated are built in and can’t be changed.

  • Food type name: Every feeding logged with it takes the new name
  • Size weight or unit: Applies to new feedings. Past ones keep what they were logged with

Weight of one is what one item usually weighs. It fills in Meal weight on a feeding, which you can still change.

Delete one

Select the row, then Delete food type or Delete size. A food type can’t be hidden, only deleted.

Careful

Deleting a food type deletes every feeding logged with it, and it can’t be undone. You type its name and check a box to confirm.

Deleting a food type or size also takes it off any reptile’s usual meal. Deleting a size keeps its feedings and their weight, but they no longer show a size name, and any stock count for that size is gone.
