The sidebar
On a computer the sidebar appears on the left of every screen. On a phone, or in a narrow window, it is in the menu at the top left. Use these links to quickly reference commonly used items such as photos, the food list and the calendar.
Point at an item, or at a part of the picture, to highlight it. Click an item to keep it lit.Tap an item to highlight it on the picture.

The top bar’s care icons
The five icons on the right of the top bar are the five kinds of care: feeding, medication, cleaning, shedding and weighing. Each icon shows how many animals are due for that care.
Select an icon to open a panel listing those animals. Select an animal to open its page. The Feeding panel lists fasting animals in their own group. The Medication panel includes any courses whose next dose falls inside your "On medication" window (See Settings, Preferences, "On medication" window).
The + button
The + button appears in the bottom corner of a screen where you can add or log something. It is a green circle on a phone, and a green button with a label on a computer. It functions dynamically, depending on which screen you are on.

| Esc | Closes whatever opened last: a menu, a dropdown, a panel or a dialog. Press it again to close the one beneath. |
| Left Right | On an animal’s page, opens the previous or next animal in your collection. In the photo viewer and in announcements, moves to the previous or next item. |
| Enter | In a weight’s box on a check list, moves to the next animal’s box. |
The arrow keys will not move between animals while you are typing in a box, or while a menu or dialog is open.
Searching and filtering
Each list screen has a row along the top with the Search button, followed by the filter buttons for that screen.
Search
Select Search to open a box under the row. While a search is active, the button shows the text entered, with a × that clears it.
| Screen | Search looks at |
|---|---|
| Home, the Photo Gallery, Reports & Cage Cards, the Daily Food List | Each animal’s nickname, Name / ID and morph |
| Event History | The animal, and each event’s type, food size, value, dose and notes |
| The Calendar | The animal, the event type, the mark’s words and notes |
| Clutches | The clutch’s name, its parents and its notes |
Filters
- Nothing checked means everything is shown
- Several checks in one list match any of them. Checks in two filters must match both
- Each choice shows how many it would leave. A choice that would leave none is grayed out
- A filter turns green while it is set differently from the screen’s default
- In collection, under Status, checks the statuses in the collection
- Where animals are selected, as on Reports & Cage Cards, a filter never removes a selection. A line shows how many are ticked, hidden by the filters
Point at an item, or at a part of the picture, to highlight it. Click an item to keep it lit.Tap an item to highlight it on the picture.
- The list’s heading
- All statuses, which shows every animal
- In collection, which Home defaults to
- How many animals have this status
Home’s Needs filter
Needs shows the animals that need feeding, medication, cleaning or weighing, or are in shed (pre-shed included). Needs medication means a dose is due.
Picture to come: a crop of Home’s Needs list open on a phone, in the owner’s account, as Home starts (nothing checked under Needs): the heading By need, All Reptiles, then Needs Feeding, Needs Medication, Needs Cleaning, In Shed and Needs Weighing, each with its colored dot and its count. Cropped to the list alone on the screen’s own background, as the Status list above is
When no results remain, the list says so and includes a way to clear the search and filters.
