Reminders and Due Dates

On this page
A due date is the last time you did something, plus how often it repeats. It counts to the minute, so a reptile fed on Oct 3 at 6 PM that repeats every 7 days is due on Oct 10 at 6 PM.
Only reptiles In Collection get reminders. That means Active, For Sale, Reserved or Quarantine.
What each reminder counts from
| Care | Counts from | Repeats |
|---|---|---|
| Feeding | The last meal | That feeding’s Next Feeding in, or else the reptile’s Feed every |
| Medication | The last dose | That dose’s Repeat every. A dose with no repeat sets no reminder |
| Cleaning | The last cleaning that resets the reminder | The reptile’s Full substrate change every |
| Weight | The last weigh-in | The reptile’s Weigh every |
| Shed | Its last shed, or the start of a shed that’s open | An estimate from its own history, so it’s never overdue |
When setting a reptile’s reminder intervals, leaving Full substrate change every or Weigh every blank, or setting it to 0, turns that reminder off. Feed every is required.
How a feeding changes the date
- Ate: The next meal counts from this one
- Refused: The date doesn’t move, and the meal stays due
- Refused while fasting: The next meal counts from the refusal
- Regurgitated: The next meal counts from Came back up
Changing Feed every in a reptile’s Update form applies from the next feeding. To move the current date, edit Next Feeding in on the last feeding you logged.
A backdated entry only moves the due date if nothing newer has been logged.
Show reminders earlier
Three settings are in Settings, Preferences:
- Show things as due early: Shows reminders up to 24 hours before the due time, which helps if you don’t feed at the same time every day
- “On Medication” window: Shows a reptile as on meds when its next dose is coming up
- Hide feeding while shedding: Hides the reminder without changing the date
Where reminders show
- Home: Icons on each reptile
- Notification Bar: A count for each kind of care
- Dashboard: A dial for each kind of care
- Feeding List: Feedings and doses
- Calendar: What’s due, plus likely dates ahead if care stays on time
Care Icons explains what each icon and color means.
