Logging from the Calendar

There are 2 ways to log from the Calendar: by selecting the calendar day, or using the + button.

Logging directly from a calendar day

Animals due for a feeding, cleaning, weigh-in or medication can be logged directly from a calendar day. The time will default to the current time.

Note that projected events and sheds do not have a Log button.

Logging with the + button

The Calendar’s + button logs Quick Feed, a cleaning or a weigh-in for the day you’ve picked, through Select & Log’s check list. The + button from List view logs for today.

The animals due for the selected care task on that day will be listed first; the rest of the collection is accessible underneath.

A past day defaults to noon on that day. Today or a future date will have the current time.

Since no animals are due on a past calendar day, they will all default to Skip. Current and future feedings will default to Ate. Be sure to check your preferred details before logging.

On a phone, 19 seconds

Two videos without sound. A Quick Feed for a day earlier in the week, dated that day at noon, then undone.

Plan time away

Pick the days you’ll be away, and the Calendar will help you to plan feeding beforehand and a feeding list for a sitter, if applicable.

Plan a trip

  1. On the Calendar on PC, select Plan time away beside Today. On a phone, it is the last item in the + menu
  2. Set your trip dates. Choosing a length will automatically adjust the trip’s end date
  3. Under This trip, you can choose how much an animal’s regular feeding day can move by. This will help determine whether you should feed an animal before you go, or when you return
  4. Toggle Sitters feed during the trip to determine whether feedings should occur while you are gone
  5. Proceed to your trip plan

Picture to come: the Plan time away dialog on a phone, in the owner’s account, a whole screen: Leaving and Back set, a length chosen, This trip with A meal may move by and the Sitters feed during the trip toggle. Numbered to match steps 2 to 5: 1 on the dates, 2 on A meal may move by, 3 on the sitters toggle, 4 on the Plan button

Once a trip is planned, it is saved to your account and a Time away tab appears on the Calendar beside Month, Week and List. You can review this trip plan at any time, on any device you sign in on. Select Change dates to edit the trip, or End plan now to clear it. The plan ends by itself two days after your Back date.

Modifying feeding dates during a trip

The trip plan will provide a list of animals to feed before you go. You can modify your preferences for each animal by selecting it.

Picture to come: a crop of the Time away tab on a phone, in the owner’s account: one animal’s row under Feed before you go, expanded, showing its two options, Feed early and when you’re back, each with Use this

From two days before you leave, each animal on the list has a Log button, which logs its usual meal. An animal fed early stays on the list, marked Fed early, with Undo.

The sitter list

At the bottom of your trip plan, a sitter list will show any medications, clutches due to hatch or feedings due (as applicable). You can add a note for the sitter and print or copy the list. Print saves the list as a PDF with a checklist.

This letterhead holds only a business name and a logo, so no If anything’s wrong: line prints.

The sheet carries your letterhead from Settings, Reports & Documents.

The plan itself changes nothing in your records. It moves only the Calendar’s projected marks; a meal you log from the list is recorded like any other feeding. A note for the sitter is saved with the trip.
